Senior Buyer - 174517

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Buyer to join a leading medical device manufacturing organization in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The Senior Buyer will serve as a critical supply chain subject matter expert, leading vendor management initiatives, supporting complex sourcing activities, and ensuring the timely procurement of custom manufactured components to meet production and business objectives.

Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer:

• Manage strategic supplier relationships for custom fabricated, machined, and production-critical components, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery performance targets are achieved

• Serve as the primary escalation point for supplier-related issues, utilizing technical knowledge of machining and metal fabrication processes to drive resolution and corrective actions

• Lead sourcing, negotiation, and procurement activities for complex components while identifying opportunities for cost savings and supply chain optimization

• Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Planning teams to ensure supplier capabilities align with production and product requirements

• Analyze supplier performance metrics, conduct business reviews, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate supply chain risks

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior buyers, acting as a subject matter expert in procurement best practices, supplier management, and manufacturing processes

Qualifications of the Senior Buyer:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment

• Demonstrated expertise managing suppliers that support CNC machining, metal fabrication, or custom manufactured products

• Strong understanding of machining processes, manufacturing methods, and supplier quality principles

• Experience leading supplier negotiations, contract discussions, and performance improvement initiatives

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and cross-functional collaboration

Compensation for the Senior Buyer includes:

• Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000
