Senior Data/Platform Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data / Platform Engineer to join an innovative organization within the healthcare technology industry. The Senior Data / Platform Engineer will play a critical role in transforming the company's legacy data warehouse into a scalable cloud platform, establishing a large modernization initiative by owning the necessary platform components across infrastructure, ETL pipelines, event-driven integrations, backend services, and cloud architecture.

Responsibilities of the Senior Data / Platform Engineer:

• Design and build data pipelines that ingest and transform data from APIs, file feeds, BigQuery, and other external sources.

• Develop ETL processes, backend services, and event-driven integrations using Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.

• Manage AWS cloud infrastructure with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools to support deployments.

• Optimize data warehouse performance across Redshift, Snowflake, or similar platforms through SQL tuning and data modeling.

• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and data quality controls to ensure platform reliability.

• Support data warehouse migration efforts, including backfills, reconciliation, and validation against legacy systems.

Qualifications of the Senior Data / Platform Engineer:

• 7+ years of experience in building data engineering, platform engineering, backend engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience rebuilding, modernizing, or re-architecting data pipelines, platforms or infrastructure from beginning to end.

• Strong proficiency with Python, Node.js, Go, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code practices.

• Advanced SQL skills with experience supporting Redshift, Snowflake, or other enterprise data warehouse technologies.

Compensation for the Senior Data / Platform Engineer includes:

• Pay Range: $80-$100 per hour (depending on experience),

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
