Piper Companies is seeking a Cable Technician for a large data center build in Red Oak, TX. This position will be fully on site, working 12 hour shifts (day shift or night shift), 7 days a week. This project is expected to be through February of 2027, and potentially extending into March/April.
Responsibilities of the Cable Technician:
· Install and test low-voltage cable, including fiber optics and copper
· Interpret blueprints and schematics
· Build and install telecom room components including racks, grounding, bonding, etc.
· Test various cable types using Flukes or other testing methods
· Follow all safety requirements and regulations
Requirements for the Cable Technician:
· 1-2+ years of experience in installing, pulling, terminating, and testing cable
· Must have all required PPE and safety equipment
· Must have, or be willing to obtain, OSHA 10 certification
· Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and crawl/bend/stretch into tight spaces
· Must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer
· Team lead experience is a plus
Compensation for the Cable Technician:
· Hourly rate: $20-22/hr **depending on experience**
· Benefits: Cigna medical/dental/vision, 401k, sick leave if required by law
