Operations Supervisor, Microbiology -Arlington TX

Piper Companies is currently seeking an Operations Supervisor, Microbiology to support a global food safety, and quality company in Arlington, TX

Responsibilities of the Operations Supervisor, Microbiology

·      Supervise departmental personnel in conducting routine food sample analysis, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.

·      Communicate client requirements to laboratory personnel and address procedural or operational difficulties with client service personnel.

·      Read, calculate, and record analysis data, correcting discrepancies to produce accurate client reports.

·      Administer corporate human resource programs related to recruitment, retention, compensation, training, and development.

·      Educate and train departmental personnel on procedures and new analysis methods, recommending modifications as needed.

·      Arrange work schedules, assist with analysis tasks, and maintain supplies and instrumentation for operating departments.

·      Cease specific analyses when quality system evidence indicates a compromised process, in collaboration with Operations Manager or Lab Director.

·      Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and ensure employees are adequately trained.

·      Attend relevant seminars, stay updated on food science developments, and support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications of the Operations Supervisor, Microbiology

·      Proven experience in laboratory operations and supervision.

·      In-depth knowledge of food sample analysis, Standard Operating Procedures, and human resource management.

·      Strong organizational and communication skills.

·      Ability to troubleshoot procedural and operational challenges.

·      Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

·      Continuous learning mindset and commitment to quality improvement.
