Sr. Data Engineer III - 174553

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer III to join a growing organization within the technology and data analytics industry. The Sr. Data Engineer III will serve as a key technical leader, driving the design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise data solutions while mentoring team members and influencing technical direction. Responsibilities of the Sr. Data Engineer III:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL processes and enterprise data pipelines utilizing Azure cloud technologies.

• Architect and implement data solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and operational reporting initiatives.

• Lead data engineering efforts and provide technical guidance to team members and stakeholders.

• Develop and optimize SQL and Python-based solutions to support data integration, transformation, and performance requirements.

• Build, enhance, and support Azure Data Factory workflows and orchestration processes.

• Create and maintain logical and physical data models that support organizational data strategy and scalability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and ensure successful project delivery.

• Drive architectural decisions and technology recommendations rather than solely executing pre-defined solutions.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and modernization across the data ecosystem.

Qualifications of the Sr. Data Engineer III:

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or related disciplines.

• Advanced expertise in SQL and Python development.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.

• Proven experience designing and supporting Azure Data Factory solutions.

• Extensive background building and maintaining ETL processes and large-scale data pipelines.

• Strong understanding of data modeling principles, including dimensional and relational modeling methodologies.

• Demonstrated experience serving as a technical leader within a small or mid-sized environment, including mentoring peers, influencing technical direction, and driving project success.

• Proven ability to own solution architecture and make strategic technical decisions from concept through implementation.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience with modern data architecture, cloud-based data platforms, and enterprise data integration best practices.

Compensation for the Sr. Data Engineer III includes:

• Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
