HPC Systems Administrator

Piper Companies is seeking a HPC Systems Administrator with an academic medical center in Philadelphia for a contract-to-hire, remote opportunity.

Responsibilities for the HPC Systems Administrator:

• Focused on HPC (High performance computing).
• Manage Linux-based clustered computing environment (RedHat, CentOS preferred).
• Working with an underlying storage system running GPFS.
• Upgrade incoming projects, understand testing, preparation, understand interdependencies, and other variables across environment.
• Help users with requests, troubleshooting, debugging.

Requirements for the HPC Systems Administrator:

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Experience with Linux based clustered computing, RedHat and CentOS for supporting servers.
• Programming skills: Bash, Python, Perl, R.
• Experience reviewing/debugging scientific computing pipelines, assisting researchers with compilation errors
• Academic medical center environment.
• InfiniBand network support experience.
• Cloud experience, using Azure.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance regulations.
• LSF for job scheduling, Slurm is also a popular tool.

Compensation/Benefits for the HPC Systems Administrator:

• Targeting around $60/hour, comparable salary upon conversion.
