Database Engineer

Piper Companies is looking for a Database Engineer to join a healthcare services organization. This is based in Columbia, MD with 3 days remote per week.

 Essential Duties of the Database Engineer:

• Provides insight for database architecture, design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis.
• Analyze business and IT requirements to help form IT strategies in the database layer.
• Evaluate and improve data ETL (extract/transform/load) processes and make suggestions for improved performance/scalability of large data loads.
• Create new or enhance existing ETL processes to support BI and data warehousing initiatives.

Qualifications of the Database Engineer:

• 8+ years of experience in database architecture, design, and implementation.
• 8+ years of SQL Server administration experience.
• Strong PowerBI experience.
• Proven experience with building out a data warehouse.
• Ability to create scalable databases.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.

 Compensation for the Database Engineer:

• $120,000 - $160,000 (based on experience)
