Engineering Support Specialist

Piper Companies is looking for an Engineering Support Specialist to join an organization supporting medical research located in Fort Payne, AL. The Engineering Support Specialist will provide technical engineering support across various research and development initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Engineering Support Specialist include:

• Design, assemble, install, and maintain experimental equipment and systems
• Apply engineering principles across scientific, medical, and technical fields to support experimentation
• Support the development of testing procedures, equipment, and risk assessments for various research projects
• Serve as an Associate Investigator, advising study and Principal Investigators in instrumentation, data acquisition, and research execution
• Write and review SOPs to ensure compliance with safety policies

Qualifications for the Engineering Support Specialist include:

• 2+ years of experience with programming, data acquisition, instrumentation, kinematic, and video motion capture
• Proficiency with MATLAB
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, biomedical instrumentation, signal analysis, and mathematics
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, biomedical, mechanical, biomechanics, or a related field) from an ABET-accredited program

Compensation for the Engineering Support Specialist includes:

• Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 **depending on experience**
