Piper Companies is actively seeking a Clean Utilities Project Engineer for a manufacturing facility that is brand new and going to be the largest end-to-end cell manufacturing facility in Northern America The Clean Utilities Project Engineer will oversee and coordinate the design, installation, and commissioning of critical utilities and equipment for projects located on the outskirts of Raleigh, NC. With also the abiltiy to travel abroad to countries like Italy as well as Toronto!
Responsibilities of the Clean Utilities Project Engineer:
- Review and approve submittals from the Design/builder for utilities and equipment designs.
- Provide input on detailed design and installation specifications for clean utilities.
- Coordinate equipment design with automation and controls engineering staff.
- Participate in constructability reviews with the site construction team.
- Support the development and review of tendering packages.
- Coordinate field installations and construction schedules for clean utility systems.
- Assist site construction teams and project controls in ongoing clean utilities works.
- Ensure the quality of design and installations meets project standards.
- Drive progress and coordination to meet project schedule, cost, and quality targets.
- Participate in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality reviews for GMP installations.
- Collaborate with Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) teams on system boundaries and reviews.
Qualifications of the Clean Utilities Project Engineer:
- 5-10 years of experience within clean utilities, preferably in pharmaceutical or similar industries
- Experience with clean utilities systems design, installation, and commissioning.
- Experience working with WFI, Purified Water, Clean Steam, and Process Gases (Nitrogen, Oxygen, CO2, Clean Air, No Nerve Gas)
- Ability to read P&ID's and spot design errors.
- Start up brownfield or greenfield to sustaining operations background.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- B.S./M.S. in a Engineering discipline, or a related field
Compensation of the Clean Utilities Project Engineer:
- Competitive salary, $45-$70/hr with flexibility for the right candidate
