Piper Companies is seeking a HPC Systems Administrator to join a healthcare company in Philadelphia, PA. You will manage and optimize high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. This role focuses on supporting a Linux-based clustered environment and maintaining the underlying storage system, with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and reliability. This is a full-time, 100% remote opportunity (must be based in US, EST preferred).
Responsibilities of the HPC Systems Admin include:
- Administer and maintain high-performance computing systems, with a strong emphasis on Linux-based clusters (preferably RedHat or CentOS).
- Oversee the storage environment, including GPFS, ensuring smooth operation and performance.
- Collaborate on the integration of new projects, performing testing, system preparation, and analyzing dependencies across the computing environment.
- Assist users with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues related to HPC resources.
- Work closely with research teams to resolve compilation errors and review/debug scientific computing pipelines.
Qualifications for the HPC Systems Admin include:
- Strong experience managing Linux-based clusters, with specific expertise in RedHat or CentOS environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, and R.
- Experience debugging and reviewing scientific computing pipelines, assisting researchers with troubleshooting and compilation issues.
- Familiarity with high-performance networking technologies, including InfiniBand.
- Experience in cloud computing environments, especially with Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance regulations as they relate to medical research.
- Experience with job schedulers like LSF
Compensation & Benefits:
