Attending Veterinarian

Piper Companies is currently seeking an Attending Veterinarian to support a Biotech company focused in creation and supply of biological reagents in Bedford, PA.

Responsibilities of the Attending Veterinarian   

·       Supervise preventive healthcare, medical treatment, sedation, and pain relief protocols, and handling procedures.

·       Ensure compliance with Veterinary Care Program SOPs and institutional standards.

·       Advise on potential clinical complications from experimental procedures.

·       Provide oversight for surgical programs and perioperative care.

·       Coordinate veterinary care for all animal housing units.

·       Diagnose, treat, and conduct necropsies; maintain accurate medical records.

Qualifications of the Attending Veterinarian   

·       Candidate must possess a DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary college, or its foreign equivalent.

·       Licensure in Pennsylvania and Category II Federal Accreditation are mandatory.

·       Preference for Diplomate status with the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM).

·        A minimum of 5 years’ experience with small ruminants.

·       Preferred experience with cattle and rabbits.

·       A background or experience in farm animal husbandry is advantageous.

·       Knowledge of cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations is beneficial

Compensation for the Attending Veterinarian    

·       Salary range is commensurate with experience
