Route/Switch Network Engineer (San Antonio, TX)

Piper Companies is seeking a skilled and experienced Route/Switch Network Engineer to join our client's team in San Antonio, Texas. This position will support a major healthcare organization within the Department of Defense, providing critical network engineering services. Our client is a leading global technology company known for its innovative solutions and commitment to excellence, providing a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities for the Route/Switch Network Engineer:

• Design, implement, and manage complex network solutions, focusing on routing and switching technologies.
• Configure and maintain network devices, including iOS XE, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, and IPv6.
• Conduct network assessments to inventory, evaluate, and recommend upgrades or replacements for existing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and partners to establish network baselines and ensure optimal performance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues.
• Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
• Ensure network security and compliance with DoD standards and regulations.

Qualifications for the Route/Switch Network Engineer:

• Must be a US Citizen due to the client supported
• Onsite in San Antonio, Texas, 5 days a week.
• Strong expertise in routing and switching technologies, including iOS XE, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, and IPv6.
• Experience with iOS XR is a plus.
• Proven experience in network design, implementation, and management.

Compensation/Benefits for the Route/Switch Network Engineer:

• Salary: $130,000 - $145,000
• 20 days of PTO and 11 Federal Holidays
• Long-Term Multi-Year Consulting Engagement
