Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist - Raleigh, NC

Piper Companies is searching for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Professional to join a specialty pharmaceutical company as an EHS Specialist on a full-time basis at their chemical manufacturing plant in Raleigh, NC. The EHS Specialist will assist with multiple upcoming Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) projects and ensure compliance to state, federal and corporate EHS requirements. This opportunity is onsite Monday - Friday in Raleigh, NC with traditional first shift hours.

Responsibilities of the EHS Specialist:

• Manage safety process and process safety management (PSM) systems
• Develop and implement chemical management safety programs
• Serve as a subject matter expert for safety and environmental requirements
• Manage CAPAs and continuous improvements for safety
• Support risk assessments (PHA, LOPA, FMEA, HazOP)

Qualifications of the EHS Specialist:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering, Science or related field
• 2+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) experience and chemical safety in a manufacturing/industrial environment with a PSM requirement
• Process chemistry experience preferred
• Knowledge and ability to perform risk assessments
• Strong foundation and understanding of OSHA regulations

Compensation of the EHS Specialist:

• Salary: $75,000 - $85,000, dependent on relevant experience
