Piper Companies is actively seeking a Associate Scientist to join a join a dynamic and fast-paced team focused on
developing therapies to degrade disease-causing proteins for diseases related towards CNS. This position is located in New Haven, Connecticut. The Associate Scientist is a laboratory/wet bench based role that will conduct biochemistry techniques alongside other team members in support of small molecule drug discovery efforts.
Responsibilities of the Associate Scientist:
- Design and conduct experiments, followed by data analysis.
- Maintain and culture both adherent and suspension mammalian cells; isolate and expand clonal cell populations.
- Assess target protein degradation using techniques such as Western blot, ELISA, or similar methods.
- Record, compile, and interpret experimental data; manage laboratory notebooks, databases, and spreadsheets to present data effectively.
- Collaborate with biology and chemistry team members to advance drug discovery and development programs.
- Present experimental data at regular team meetings.
Qualifications of the Associate Scientist:
- 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience
- Hands of experience in assessing protein levels in various bioassays (Western blots, ELISA, In Cell Western)
- Aseptic mammalian cell culture, including media preparation, cryopreservation, and clonal isolation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- B.S./M.S. Degree in biology, neuroscience, or related field
Compensation of the Associate Scientist:
- Salary: $30-$40/hr
