Sr. Director of Operations

Piper Health & Sciences is hiring for a Sr. Director of Operations for a CRO/CMO in the Frederick, MD area. This role reports directly to the CEO and manages the execution of all external operations for the company.  

Responsibilities for the Sr. Director of Operations include:

·       Directly supports the CEO by overseeing scientific operational management and driving strategy.

·       Operational oversight of all studies including R&D efforts, GLP studies, and GMP testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

·       Implement and execute strategies to fulfill customer needs promptly and satisfactorily.

·       Ensure all operational staff are in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

·       Monitor and provide weekly/monthly reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other relevant information.

·       Communicate effectively across multiple departments in the organization to drive collaboration.

·       Manage departmental deadlines and costs, including proposing and updating departmental budgets.

·       Establish procedures for tracking/maintaining digitized and paper records in accordance with GLP/GMP guidelines.

·       Ensure processing, cleaning, and equipment validations are completed as necessary by the appropriate staff.

·       Monitor the status of essential production equipment and supplies to ensure and maintain quality.

Requirements for the Sr. Director of Operations include:

·       10+ years of experience managing teams in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CMO/CDMO) environment.

·       Scientific expertise in bioprocessing, virology, and/or CMC.

·       Prior management experience in GLP and/or GMP setting.

·       Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Compensation for the Sr. Director of Operations includes:

·       Salary Range: approximately $160,000 - $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience
