Security Engineer, Application Security

Piper Companies is currently seeking an Security Engineer, Application Security for a remote, long-term opportunity. The Security Engineer, Application Security will focus on becoming the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the application layer security of all products under Platform Technology, leveraging hands-on experience in exploiting vulnerabilities and conducting cyber operations to build robust defenses.

Responsibilities of the Security Engineer, Application Security:

·       Become the SME for the application layer security of all products under Platform Technology.

·       Embed security practices into the application development lifecycle, emphasizing security-as-code principles within the application layer.

·       Work closely with development teams to implement robust, scalable security measures.

·       Conduct automated assessments and maintain a strong security posture for platform technology applications.

Qualifications of the Security Engineer, Application Security:

·       Proven record as a red team operator focused on application security.

·       Experience with Python or similar programming languages.

·       OWASP certifications.

·       Experience in systems integration, systems architecture, and offensive security.

·       Understanding of API security and microservices architecture.

·       Hack the Box experience is a plus, showing engagement in extra-curricular security activities.

Compensation for the Security Engineer, Application Security

·       Competitive salary: $120,000 -$150,000
