Head of Data Science and Emerging Technology

Piper Companies is seeking a Head of Data Science and Emerging Technology to join a financial services company. This is a hybrid role, 3 days/week on-site in Wayne, PA.

Responsibilities of the Head of Data Science and Emerging Technology:

• Drive the exploration and adoption of new and advanced technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance company's competitive advantage in the investment management industry.
• Develop and implement strategies using AI, ML, and blockchain to enhance business efficiency and innovation.
• Identify potential AI/ML solutions by collaborating with key stakeholders
• Identify AI capabilities embedded within third-party technologies currently used that can be leveraged for business value.
• Manage a small team and work with the IT department to deploy machine learning solutions.
• Communicate with senior leadership applicable emerging trends
• Represent company at industry conferences and build relationships with partners and clients.

Qualifications of the Head of Data Science and Emerging Technology:

• 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning and Data Science (financial services industry experience is preferred).
• Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques and statistical concepts.
• Strong communication skills for presenting complex findings to various audiences.
• In-depth understanding of the role of data in strategic decision-making.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or related field; Master's or Ph.D. is preferred.

Compensation for the Head of Data Science and Emerging Technology:

• Annual salary: $175,000 - $225,000 (depending on experience).
