Piper Companies is seeking an Environmental Monitoring Associate to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company located in Durham, North Carolina. This is a second shift position, working on-site from Wednesday to Saturday, 4:00 PM to 2:30AM. The Environmental Monitoring Associate role is to ensure GMP compliance and maintain sterile areas through monitoring, testing, data analysis, and collaboration with quality assurance. 

 

Responsibilities of the Environmental Monitoring Associate include:  

  • Provide environmental monitoring support to manufacturing and laboratory groups. 
  • Conduct water sampling and pH water testing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. 
  • Collect samples of clean steam and compressed gases for analysis. 
  • Maintain and manage laboratory material and reagent inventory to support ongoing operations. 
  • Analyze environmental monitoring data and compile routine trend reports to identify potential issues. 
  • Assist in laboratory and product failure investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. 
  • Document all testing and procedures in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements. 

 

Qualifications for the Environmental Monitoring Associate include:  

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in cGMP environments. 
  • FDA and EMA regulations experience in biopharma or cell therapy manufacturing. 
  • Hands-on experience with batch record review and product disposition is preferred for this role. 
  • pH and water testing experience is preferred  
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant science preferred, but an Associate's degree or equivalent experience is also acceptable. 

 

Compensation for the Environmental Monitoring Associate include:  

  • Salary Range: $29-$35/hr 
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
