Medical Technologist

Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join a life sciences organization in the Gaithersburg, MD area. This is a full-time, direct hire position following a 1^st shift, Monday – Friday schedule.

Responsibilities for the Medical Lab Technologist include:

·       Adhere to health and safety standards, SOPs, company policies, and applicable regulations.

·       Operate and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment with proper record-keeping.

·       Perform manual sample tests (blood smears, reticulocyte smears, urine microscopy).

·       Utilize plate readers and washers for ELISA-based assays.

·       Record and review data, ensuring compliance with GLP/GxP and SOPs.

·       Identify and address laboratory QC issues; liaise with study directors and technicians.

·       Support general lab functions, including inventory, shipping, and data management.

Qualifications for the Medical Lab Technologist include:

·       Bachelor's degree in Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or similar (B.S./B.A.)

·       ASCP (MT) certification is preferred.

·       2+ years of experience in a BSL-2/GLP laboratory environment is preferred.

·       Must pass annual health physicals and use PPE as required.

Compensation for the Medical Lab Technologist includes:

·       Salary Range w/o ASCP(MT): approximately $65,000 - $85,000 annually

·       Salary Range with ASCP(MT): approximately $75,000 - $110,000 annually
