Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator for a well-established biotechnology organization specializing in lung therapeutics in Raleigh, NC. The Laboratory Coordinator will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the efficient and accurate completion of tasks and experiments.


Responsibilities of the Laboratory Coordinator:

·       Overseeing laboratory equipment, maintaining inventory, coordinating with staff and external partners, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

·       Support research and development activities, facilitating smooth workflow, and contributing to the success of the laboratory.

·       Supervise and coordinate laboratory activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.

·       Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.

·       Manage inventory of laboratory supplies, including ordering, stocking, and tracking usage.

·       Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations.

·       Train and mentor laboratory staff, promoting best practices and adherence to protocols.

·       Monitor and document laboratory activities, maintaining accurate records and reports.

·       Assist with budgeting and financial management, including cost control and resource optimization.

·       Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and service providers to support laboratory operations.


Qualifications of the Laboratory Coordinator:

·       3+ years of professional experience working in a GMP or R&D environment with 2+ years of supervisory experience (tissue engineering/bioengineering experience preferred, not required)

·       Experience supervising and coordinating laboratory activities including scheduling, resource allocation and workflow management

·       Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.)


Compensation for the Laboratory Coordinator:

·       Salary: between $22.00 - $25.00/hourly based on years of experience

·       Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision (through Cigna), 401k, Sick leave as required by law
