Data Analyst

Piper Companies is looking for a Data Analyst to join a third-party logistics organization. The Data Analyst works with the rate audit team, development, engineering, and rating support teams to support and enhance their on-premises and cloud-hosted parcel rating systems.

Responsibilities of the Data Analyst include:

• Understand carrier rating and data, the internal rating system, and query the database for custom analysis and QA scenarios (data exports, data analysis, QA).
• Research unknown data mappings and update the system configuration to optimize data accuracy and revenue.
• Be a subject matter expert for your areas of responsibility.
• Collaborate with team members to architect the best technical solutions that drive revenue.
• Respond to support requests originating from internal users in a timely fashion.
• Analyze problems and communicate with end users to assess needs and determine optimal solutions.
• Share responsibility for managing the Jira backlog.
• Create technical requirements and related documentation for the development, rating, and DevOps teams.
• Create new and extend existing operational documentation and process flow documentation.
• Work closely with and serve as backup to other team members.
• Be available on call for emergencies and off-peak production work.

Qualifications for the Data Analyst include:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 5 years of work experience.
• Solid understanding of SQL, SSMS, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL queries.
• Experience with data analysis, data QA, and requirements gathering.
• Preferred experience with parcel carrier rate sheets, BI tools, database design, large datasets, scripting, Git, process automation, Jira, and Agile methodologies.
• Service-oriented mindset with strong analytical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation and organizational skills.

Compensation for the Data Analyst includes:

• Pay Rate: $60 - $65/hr
