Quality Assurance Analyst

Piper Companies is seeking a Manual QA Analyst to work 100% remote for an advertising company based in North Carolina. The Manual QA Analyst is responsible for manually testing newly developed code, confirming acceptance criteria has been met, catching and communicating bugs, and determining when features are ready to present to users.

Responsibilities of the Manual QA Analyst:

• Work within Scrum sprint cycles alongside the broader development team, utilizing the JIRA QA Project to pick up cards for new tests, write and link cards across projects, and review KPIs for continuous improvement.
• Allocate most of the time to manual testing, providing feedback to engineers in JIRA tickets after testing the development.
• Quickly identify functional, UX, and cosmetic bugs when testing against designs and functional requirements.
• Review automated test failures to determine if a JIRA bug ticket needs to be created or if the tests need updating.
• Own deployments, determining when the pipeline is ready and deploying development to the production environment.

Qualifications of the Manual QA Analyst:

• 2-4 years of experience as a Manual QA Analyst
• Proven experience in manual testing and QA processes.
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in using JIRA for tracking and managing QA tasks.
• Strong ability to identify and communicate bugs effectively.
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of deployment processes and version control.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Compensation for the Manual QA Analyst:

• Salary: $70,000-$80,000
