Jr. Network Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support a growing client in the technology industry in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. The Junior Network Engineer role requires working onsite 2 days per week in RTP, with the remainder of the schedule remote. The Junior Network Engineer role is ideal for an early-career professional with a strong foundation in networking, systems administration, and technical troubleshooting who is looking to grow their infrastructure expertise in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities of the Junior Network Engineer include:

• Perform day-to-day network maintenance activities, including patching, cabling, hardware support, and infrastructure upkeep.

• Assist with administration and support of servers, operating systems, and core IT systems in an on-premises environment.

• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure-related issues across multiple locations.

• Support network upgrades, deployments, and documentation efforts while following established security and operational procedures.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams to ensure reliable network and system performance.

Requirements of the Junior Network Engineer include:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, network support, or systems administration.

• CCNA certification or equivalent Cisco networking knowledge required.

• Experience with network troubleshooting, switch and router configuration, cabling, and patch management.

• Familiarity with Windows Server administration and on-premises infrastructure environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

Compensation for the Junior Network Engineer include:

• $90,000 - $115,000 annually

• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.

• Hybrid work schedule with 2 days onsite in RTP.
