Piper Companies is seeking a BioPharma Construction Project Manager to manage the construction and communication of a new facility build for a CDMO out in Bloomington, IN.
The role has an onsite expectation and slated through 2026 and potentially beyond. The Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of our new facility buildout project in Bloomington, ensuring it is completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This is a high-impact role that requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, regulatory, and external contractors.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end construction of a new pharmaceutical facility, from groundbreaking to commissioning.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and local authorities.
- Ensure all construction activities are compliant with GMP, FDA, and local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Provide detailed project updates and reports to internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Manage procurement and contract negotiations in collaboration with the legal and procurement teams.
- Champion safety standards and enforce compliance with company and industry health and safety regulations.
Qualifications include:
- 7+ years of project management experience in construction, with at least 3 years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other GMP-regulated environments.
- Proven experience managing large-scale facility buildouts from design to turnover.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, building codes, and regulatory requirements in a life sciences context.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field; PMP certification a plus.
