Director of IT Risk

Piper Companies is seeking a (Hybrid) Director, IT Management Controls to join an industry leading credit union, located in McLean, VA. The primary purpose of this position is to manage a team of both specialists and generalists to promote and provide strong governance and management practices.

Responsibilities of the Director, IT Management Controls include:

• Collaborate with the CIO, IT management team, and business unit management in establishing IT strategy and objectives.
• Facilitate development and presentation of the annual IT business plan, balanced scorecard, and objectives.
• Maintain and improve IT governance and first line of defense capability.
• Influence business units and stakeholders on IT vision, strategy, and controls for effective risk management.
• Assist in managing IT Division finances, including budget establishment, financial reporting, and expense control.
• Oversee IT Risk Management and Controls program, procurement, vendor management, and business continuity.
• Serve as the primary IT liaison for audits, regulatory examinations, and third-party assessments.
• Interact with board members, management, staff, and vendors regularly.

Qualifications for the Director, IT Management Controls include:

• Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressively responsible management in IT, preferably across multiple domains.
• Minimum of four (4) years of management experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of IT best practices, frameworks, and standards, including IT governance, risk management, information security, project management, and workforce management. Relevant certifications preferred, including Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
• Advanced written, oral, and presentation communication skills.

Compensation for the Director, IT Management Controls includes:

• Compensation: $200,000 - $215,000 *depending on experience*
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
