Sr. Manager of IT Management Controls

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Manager, IT Management Controls to join one of the nation’s largest premier credit unions based in Tysons, VA. The Senior Manager, IT Management Controls will manage a team of specialists and generalists to promote strong governance and management practices across the IT Division. This position will be hybrid in Tysons, VA!

Responsibilities of the Senior Manager, IT Management Controls include:

• Collaborate with the CIO, IT management team, and business unit management to establish IT strategy and objectives.
• Facilitate the development and presentation of the annual IT business plan, IT balanced scorecard, and IT objectives.
• Maintain and continuously improve IT governance program and first line of defense capability.
• Influence first line business units and key stakeholders on IT vision, strategy, reference architecture, and guiding principles.
• Assist the CIO in managing IT Division finances and resource utilization, including establishing the annual budget and promoting expense discipline.
• Establish, maintain, and improve IT Risk Management and Controls program.
• Oversee IT procurement and vendor management activities, including negotiating major contract agreements.
• Ensure effective IT Business Continuity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the primary IT liaison for internal audits, regulatory examinations, and other third-party audits.
• Interact with board members, management, staff, and vendors regularly.

Qualifications for the Senior Manager, IT Management Controls include:

• 12+ years of progressively responsible management experience in IT, preferably across multiple IT domains.
• Management experience in the financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of IT best practices, frameworks, and standards across various areas, including IT management, governance, risk management, information security, and project management.
• CRISC Certification
• Advanced skills in written, oral, and presentation communications.

Compensation for the Senior Manager, IT Management Controls includes:

• Salary: $180,000 - $200,000
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
