Piper Companies is seeking a Pathologist to join a leading clinical research organization dedicated to driving innovation in diagnostic medicine. This is a hybrid role, 3 days onsite in Farmingdale, NY. This full-time role offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic pathology department, providing expert analysis of surgical specimens while ensuring regulatory compliance across laboratory operations.
Responsibilities of the Pathologist include:
- Direct and oversee a multidisciplinary Anatomic Pathology department, shaping strategies for diagnostic pathology, cytopathology, and subspecialty research initiatives
- Conduct expert diagnostic evaluations, including gross examination and microscopic analysis of surgical specimens, ensuring precision and timely reporting
- Collaborate with clinical research teams to provide pathology insights, fostering advancements in disease diagnosis and treatment
- Maintain rigorous quality control standards, ensuring full compliance with CAP, CLIA, and other regulatory guidelines
- Oversee medical laboratory compliance, including safety audits, proficiency reviews, and regulatory reporting
- Drive innovation in pathology research, mentoring technical staff and leading strategic improvement initiatives
Qualifications for the Pathologist include:
- MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology (American Board of Pathology)
- Active or eligible for a New York state medical license, with proven expertise in surgical pathology
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing clinical pathology and diagnostic services
- Demonstrated success in interpreting complex pathology cases with high attention to detail
- Fellowship training in surgical pathology subspecialties (GI, Dermatopathology, Hematopathology) preferred
Compensation for the Pathologist:
- Salary Range: starting at $250,000/year
