Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a passionate, experienced Senior Scientist with deep expertise in kidney physiology to join a groundbreaking biotech company in the Minneapolis, MN area. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in cell culture, bioengineering, and experimental R&D to enhance the function of bioengineered kidneys.
Responsibilities for the Senior Scientist include:
· Design and execute experiments to improve primary kidney cell function in bioengineered organs
· Develop and optimize cell culture media for kidney and liver cells
· Drive innovation in materials, methods, and technologies
· Lead and manage R&D projects to meet key milestones
· Mentor junior scientists and contribute to a collaborative team environment
· Prepare scientific reports, publications, patents, and regulatory documents
· Stay current with scientific advancements and share insights with the team
Qualifications for the Senior Scientist include:
· Master’s degree in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience, or PhD with 5+ years of related experience
· Expertise in kidney tubule physiology and mammalian cell culture
· Hands-on experience with organ culture systems, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and bioreactors
· Proven experience managing complex R&D projects
Compensation for the Senior Scientist includes:
· Salary range: approximately $115,000 - $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience
