Security Engineer

Piper Companies is hiring a Security Engineer for a world wide technology organization located in Raleigh, NC. The Security Engineer will need to have experience with RMF (Risk Management Framework, NIST and AWS. The Security Engineer will need to work a hybrid work environment in Raleigh, NC and the role is a long term contract opportunity with likelihood to convert perm.

Responsibilities of the Security Engineer:

• Assist in the management and implementation of essential security infrastructure.
• Analyze existing security processes, propose improvements, and provide strategic feedback.
• Conduct security audits to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
• Act as a point of escalation for SOC analysts, supporting investigations and incident resolution.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of web application security scanning tools.
• Evaluate and pilot new security tools to enhance infrastructure protection.

Requirements of the Security Engineer:

• 1+ years of experience in Security Engineering with hands-on security monitoring.
• Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools.
• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-171 compliance.
• Basic Windows Server and Linux administration skills.
• Experience with Azure Office 365 and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus

Compensation for the Security Engineer:

• $40.00-$50.00/ hour
• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
