Microbiology Supervisor (Second Shift)

Piper Companies is currently seeking a Microbiology Supervisor (Second Shift) to lead testing operations for a respected food safety laboratory in Allentown, PA.

Responsibilities for the Microbiology Supervisor

·      Supervise and mentor microbiology staff to ensure high-quality testing and performance

·      Oversee daily lab operations, ensuring accurate and timely test results

·      Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and compliance

·      Act as a scientific resource to clients and regulatory agencies (FDA, USDA)

·      Review and validate test results and client reports

·      Maintain QA/QC programs, ISO 17025 compliance, and equipment records

Qualifications for the Microbiology Supervisor

·      BS in Microbiology or Food Science

·      7+ years lab experience, 5+ years in a supervisory role

·       Knowledge of MLG, BAM, AOAC, USP, ELAP, ISO 17025 standards

·      Strong leadership, communication, and client service skills

·      Experience with food testing, method validation, and lab systems (LIMS preferred)

·      Ability to work Second Shift  

Compensation for the Microbiology Supervisor

·      Annual Salary: $70,000-$75,000

·      Full Time Permanent opportunity
