Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Engineering Manager to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space for a long term contract, onsite position located in Holly Springs, NC. The Junior Engineering Manager will support capital project execution by managing documentation workflows, analyzing project data, coordinating stakeholder communications, and ensuring alignment between technical drawings, procedures, and project standards.
Responsibilities of the Junior Engineering Manager include:
- Support capital projects by applying engineering principles, reviewing system drawings (e.g., P&IDs, AF&IDs, SLDs), and maintaining alignment between documentation and project procedures
- Extract and analyze data from various databases to develop automated reports, create dashboards, and ensure teams adhere to procedural and compliance standards
- Facilitate workflow and knowledge transfer by creating flowcharts and training materials; assist in reviewing project instructions in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Lead coordination efforts through weekly stakeholder meetings, daily status communications, and maintenance of tools like SharePoint to support document management and project transparency
- Contribute to quality control by auditing engineering deliverables, managing turnover packages, monitoring MCC signature completion, and supporting system handovers
Qualifications for the Junior Engineering Manager include:
- 3–4 years of experience in construction, capital projects, or engineering support roles
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; ability to write macros and develop reports for decision-making
- Skilled in simplifying complex processes into workflows, reading design drawings (e.g., P&IDs), and supporting organizational consistency
- Familiarity with construction software, document management, and operations-focused environments
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Construction, Chemical, or related) required
Compensation for the Junior Engineering Manager:
- Salary Range: $30-$40/hour (USD)
