Piper Companies is seeking a Medical Technologist to join a leading clinical research organization dedicated to driving innovation in diagnostic medicine. This is an onsite, permanent role, in Farmingdale, NY. This full-time role offers an opportunity to perform and validate laboratory tests, maintain equipment and documentation, and uphold rigorous quality standards to support the accuracy and integrity of clinical research.
Responsibilities of the Medical Technologist include:
- Operate and maintain laboratory automation equipment following established protocols and safety procedures.
- Conduct routine equipment checks, calibrations, quality control, and preventive maintenance in line with lab standards.
- Ensure test accuracy by strictly adhering to Quality Control procedures and standard operating guidelines.
- Accurately document all assay activities and test results for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Perform assigned proficiency testing and handle specimens in a unidirectional workflow to prevent cross-contamination.
Qualifications for the Medical Technologist include:
- Level 1: 0–3 years’ experience; Level 2: 3–7 years’ experience; Senior Level: 7+ years’ experience
- NYS license as a Medical Laboratory Scientist required
- ASCP certification preferred; prior experience in clinical or research lab environments desirable
- Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, quality control, and testing procedures; open to generalists with interest in specialization
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field required
Compensation for the Medical Technologist:
- Salary Range: Level 1: $35–$40/hr; Level 2: $47–$50/hr; Senior Level: $55–$56/hr — Overtime available
