Control Room Operator

Piper Companies is seeking a Control Room Operator to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space for a contract, onsite position located in Clayton, NC. The Control Room Operator oversees utility equipment and control systems, ensuring compliance, troubleshooting issues, conducting inspections, handling materials, and supporting plant optimization while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities of the Control Room Operator include:

• Operate equipment and processes in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures for both nGMP and GMP systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and document system anomalies to minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain operational standards for automated and manual systems, including control systems like BMS, PCS, and Life Safety.
• Execute site rounds, equipment inspections, raw material movement, and offloading into process systems to ensure efficient operations.1
• Adhere to quality, environmental, and safety regulations while supporting plant optimization and maintenance activities.

Qualifications for the Control Room Operator include:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating utility equipment in a manufacturing or production setting, but pharma experience is not required.
• Understanding the fundamental operations of centrifugal pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, and chillers is preferred.
• The role requires the ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain utility systems to ensure efficiency.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.

 Compensation for the Control Room Operator:

• Salary Range: $35-$40/hour (USD)
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
