Wireless Network Engineer

Piper Companies is hiring a a Wireless Network Engineer for a long-term contract with a global technology leader based in Raleigh, NC. This role is ideal for someone passionate about wireless design and deployment, with the flexibility to travel up to 50% to diverse client environments—from manufacturing facilities to healthcare campuses.

Responsibilities of the Wireless Network Engineer:

• Conduct predictive and onsite RF surveys using tools like Ekahau, Hamina, or AirMagnet
• Design and optimize wireless networks in complex environments
• Deploy and manage Cisco wireless LAN controllers (AireOS and 9800 series)
• Troubleshoot RF and client connectivity issues
• Support wireless authentication via Cisco ISE and basic DNAC functions
• Collaborate on implementation planning, testing, and cutovers

Requirements of the Wireless Network Engineer:

• 5+ years in enterprise wireless networking
• Strong experience with RF design tools and methodologies
• Hands-on with Cisco WLCs (AireOS, 9800), wireless troubleshooting, and Cisco ISE
• Familiarity with DNAC, Layer 2 switching, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
• Bachelor's degree required.

Compensation for the Wireless Engineer:

• $43.27 - $63.97 per hour
