Piper Companies is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join a fully remote team headquartered in Raleigh, NC. This team delivers outsourced IT support and managed services to small and mid-sized businesses throughout North Carolina. The Technical Support Engineer will provide remote and occasional onsite technical support, troubleshooting a wide range of IT issues for small to mid-sized business clients across North Carolina.

 

Responsibilities of the Technical Support Engineer include:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across diverse platforms (Windows, MacOS, networking, cloud-based systems).
  • Deliver remote support and occasional onsite assistance to clients.
  • Keep thorough documentation and maintain prompt, clear communication with clients and third-party vendors.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through certifications and continuous learning.

 

 

Qualifications for the Technical Support Engineer include:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support or a related technical role.
  • Solid understanding of Windows/MacOS, networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and Microsoft 365.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Azure, VPNs, firewalls, and printer support.
  • Familiarity with ConnectWise Manage, Automate, or ScreenConnect is a plus.
  • Strong self-management, attention to detail, and excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.

 

 Compensation for the Technical Support Engineer:

  • Salary Range: $58,000-$80,000 USD/year (depending on experience)
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
