Piper Companies is hiring a Wireless Engineer for a rapidly expanding IT Services firm located in Raleigh, NC. The Wireless Engineer will lead the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-grade Cisco and Meraki wireless solutions, ensuring secure and high-performance connectivity across client infrastructures. The position allows for remote work but must reside in EST, with occasional (30%) travel to customer sites as needed.
Responsibilities for the Wireless Engineer:
- Design and deploy Cisco Meraki wireless, SD-WAN, switching, and security solutions
- Configure and monitor networks using the Meraki Dashboard
- Provide consulting support for Meraki cloud adoption
- Apply expertise in Wi-Fi 6/7, CAPWAP, LWAPP, 802.1x, WPA3, RADIUS
- Segment networks across access, distribution, and core layers
- Optimize WAN performance with OSPF and BGP routing
- Manage Cisco and Meraki SDWAN deployments
- Ensure FedRAMP Moderate and StateRAMP compliance
- Support secure networking via Cisco Meraki for Government
Requirements for the Wireless Engineer:
- 5+ years in wireless networking and infrastructure
- Expert in Cisco/Meraki platforms and SD-WAN
- Deep knowledge of wireless protocols and authentication standards
- Proficient in Meraki Cloud Management tools
- Strong foundation in routing/switching (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, RSVP-TE)
- Familiar with FedRAMP and FIPS 140-2 compliance
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Compensation for the Wireless Engineer:
- $120,000 - $155,000
