Medical Technologist I – Hematology or Chemistry

Location: Farmingdale, NY (Onsite)

Shifts: Tuesday–Saturday | 10:00 AM–6:30 PM or 2:00 PM–10:30 PM (10% shift differential for evening shift)

Piper Companies is partnering with a global leader in healthcare intelligence and clinical research, to hire a Medical Technologist I for their Central Laboratory in Farmingdale, NY. This is an exciting opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in a clinical research environment.

Responsibilities of the Medical Technologist I include:

• Perform laboratory testing in Hematology or Chemistry using platforms such as Abbott, Roche, Siemens, and Optilite
• Operate and maintain lab automation equipment per SOPs
• Conduct quality control and equipment performance checks
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support clinical trials

Qualifications for the Medical Technologist I include:

• 0–3 years of lab experience
• NYS Medical Laboratory Scientist license (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Compensation for the Medical Technologist I:

• Compensation: $35–$40/hr | OT Available
• 21 PTO days (5 rollover), 10 holidays
• Yearly merit increases (2–3% typical)

1 in Chemistry (EIA, RIA, and Abbott instrumentation experience preferred)
