Senior Network Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Cisco networking technologies, Meraki SD-WAN, and next-generation network architectures.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer include:

• Installation and troubleshooting of network hardware including Cisco Nexus switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and Meraki SD-WAN.
• Administration of Cisco data center networks utilizing Nexus switching platforms in an ACI environment.
• Coordination of special projects related to LAN/WAN and IPT hardware/software improvements and enhancements.
• Maintenance and management of Cisco Meraki Infrastructure (MX, MS, MT, MR, MV & MG devices).
• Network access control using Cisco ISE for distributed wireless and wired networks.
• Network health monitoring using industry-leading technologies.
• Design and implementation of next-generation networks with automation.
• Integration of SASE and ZTNA frameworks using Cisco Secure Connect.
• Lifecycle management of network systems and documentation.
• Tier 3 support for escalated network issues and advanced diagnostics.
• Creation and execution of test plans for network components.

Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in a distributed network environment.
• Cisco CCNP/Meraki CMSS or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with SDN/SD-WAN in a Meraki environment.
• Expertise with Cisco Secure Connect and cloud-managed security services.
• Experience with Cisco Umbrella and Nexus switching platforms.
• Familiarity with SASE, SD-WAN, and Zero Trust architectures.
• Proficiency in Cisco networking technologies including Meraki SD-WAN, advanced switching, routing, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of Cisco Nexus 9000, Catalyst 9000, Firepower/Threat Defense Firewalls.
• Understanding of protocols/services: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VXLAN, LACP, DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, QoS.
• Wireless networking knowledge including WiFi 7 and Meraki environments.
• Willingness to work weekends/off-hours as needed.
• Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
• US Citizenship required.

Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer includes:

• Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive Benefits: PTO, Paid Holidays, Cigna Healthcare, Dental, Vision, 401k, Sick leave as required by law
