Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer

Piper Companies is looking for a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer to join a large healthcare organization. This is a REMOTE role (must be based in PA, NJ, or DE) with travel to Philadelphia 2-3 times per year. It is contract-to-hire (6-months temp-to-perm). This is a senior-level endpoint security role focused on driving enterprise-scale security control deployments, shaping endpoint hygiene initiatives, and providing Tier 3 support.

Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment and optimization of endpoint security tools across a variety of devices, including workstations, servers, mobile, medical, and IoT systems.
• Design secure configurations, implement controls, and ensure system hardening to protect sensitive data and critical infrastructure.
• Monitor endpoint activity for abnormal behavior and collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and resolve threats.
• Provide advanced (Tier III) support for endpoint protection platforms, including EDR, DLP, MDM, encryption, and application control.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans, proposing remediation strategies to close security gaps.
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to align endpoint security with enterprise initiatives and minimize disruption.
• Contribute to policy development and ensure compliance with organizational standards and industry frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of IT experience, including hands-on security engineering and endpoint protection
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, HITRUST)
• Strong understanding of modern endpoint security architecture and incident response
• CISSP or similar certification preferred
• Experience working in or supporting large enterprise environments

Compensation:

• Conversion salary: $130,000 - $140,000
