Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a Cloud Services team in a Remote (U.S.-based) role. This is a highly technical, client-facing engineering position focused on cloud architecture, security, and automation across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
Responsibilities of the Site Reliability Engineer include:
- Serve as a cloud SME for clients, providing expertise in design, architecture, and deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools.
- Partner with leading Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to support digital transformation and security initiatives.
- Design and implement security tooling (e.g., Tenable, Trend Micro, AquaSec, Microsoft Defender, Burp Suite).
- Develop cloud and security strategies, roadmaps, and vision-state architectures.
- Conduct cloud configuration and maturity reviews.
- Translate customer goals into secure, scalable cloud solutions.
- Design and implement secure enterprise infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and other tools.
- Work across AWS, Azure, and GCP stacks, leveraging native services.
- Support security assessment and authorization processes.
- Create and review technical documentation and security best practices.
Qualifications for the Site Reliability Engineer include:
- 3+ years of systems engineering and architecture experience.
- 3+ years of experience in cloud architecture and automation (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platform services and security practices.
- Experience working in Agile teams.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge and experience working with windows or Linux operation systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a professional services environment.
- Experience automating workflows in GitLab/GitHub.
- Familiarity with serverless and microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIG, and encryption technologies.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
Compensation for the Site Reliability Engineer includes:
- Salary Range: $115,000 – $125,000
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
