Medical Director - Clinical Pathology

Piper Companies is seeking a Medical Director - Clinical Pathology to lead a cutting-edge clinical laboratory team within a globally recognized research organization. This hybrid role, based in Farmingdale, NY (onsite 3 days/week), offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of diagnostic medicine through strategic leadership, scientific innovation, and regulatory excellence.

Responsibilities of the Medical Director - Clinical Pathology include:

• Provide expert clinical oversight for high-complexity laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and patient safety
• Lead regulatory compliance efforts across CAP, CLIA, ISO15189, and other accreditation standards
• Drive quality assurance initiatives, including proficiency testing, KPI tracking, and risk mitigation
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scientific and medical insights that support clinical trials and diagnostics
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and methodologies to advance laboratory capabilities

Qualifications for the Medical Director - Clinical Pathology include:

• MD or DO with a valid and unrestricted U.S. medical license Board certification in Clinical Pathology, Pathology, or a related specialty (e.g., Clinical Chemistry)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high-complexity clinical lab, including 2+ years in a medical director role
• Demonstrated success in regulatory compliance, quality systems, and patient safety leadership
• Must be within commuting distance to Farmingdale, NY (or willing to relocate or self-fund hotel stays for onsite days)

 Compensation for the Medical Director - Clinical Pathology:

• Salary Range: starting at $275,000/year
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
