QC Analyst I

Piper Health & Sciences is looking for a QC Analyst I (Microbiology), responsible for performing microbiological testing to ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of pharmaceutical products and manufacturing environments. This role is onsite Monday-Friday in Gaithersburg, MD.

Responsibilities for the QC Analyst I include:

·       Conduct microbial testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

·       Perform environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and controlled areas.

·       Execute water and utility testing (e.g., TOC, bioburden, endotoxin).

·       Maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and supplies.

·       Document results accurately in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.

·       Participate in method validation, equipment qualification, and troubleshooting.

·       Support investigations and CAPAs related to microbiological deviations.

·       Ensure compliance with FDA, USP, and internal quality standards/SOPs.

Qualifications for the QC Analyst I include:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field.

·       1–3 years of experience in a QC microbiology lab, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

·       Familiarity with aseptic techniques, GMP documentation, and microbiological methods.

·       Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

·       Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Compensation for the QC Analyst I includes:

·       Salary Range: approximately $25.00 - $35.00 hourly, commensurate with experience
