Azure IAM Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an Azure IAM Engineer for a leading government-focused IT organization supporting a new IL5 offering. The Azure IAM Engineer will have deep expertise in Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and a strong background in identity and access management (IAM), Azure architecture, and compliance standards. The Azure IAM Engineer is a remote role for candidates in EST or CST time zones.

Responsibilities for the Azure IAM Engineer include:

·      Design and implement Azure Entra ID solutions to meet business and security requirements

·      Develop and maintain architecture and design documentation for Azure Entra ID deployments

·      Manage and configure Azure Entra ID, including RBAC/ABAC, SSO, MFA, and conditional access policies

·      Monitor and maintain the health and performance of Azure Entra ID services

·      Ensure compliance with IAM-related security policies and standards (IL5 experience is a major plus)

·      Conduct regular security assessments and audits of IAM configurations

·      Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for Azure Entra ID-related issues

·      Lead and participate in IAM-related projects, defining scope, deliverables, and timelines

·      Provide training and documentation for IT staff and end-users

Requirements for the Azure IAM Engineer include:

·      Proven experience with Azure Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)

·      Strong understanding of Azure services and architecture

·      Background in identity federation, SSO, MFA, RBAC and/or ABAC

·      Knowledge of security and compliance standards (IL5 experience highly preferred)

·      Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

·      Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field

·      Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred

·      Must be eligible to work in the United States

Compensation for the Azure IAM Engineer:

·      $120,000–$145,000 annually

·      Full comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and sick leave as required by law
