Resident Network Operations Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Resident Network Operations Engineer to join a leading Service Provider organization. The Resident Network Operations Engineer will be critical in delivering post-sales, on-site, and remote support for Juniper Networks products. This position will be on-site 2–3 days per week in Long Island City, NY.

Responsibilities of the Resident Network Operations Engineer include:

• Provide hands-on operational support for Juniper routing, switching, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi technologies within the customer’s infrastructure
• Troubleshoot network and hardware issues, manage JTAC cases, and ensure timely resolution
• Train customer personnel on Juniper product configuration, operation, and best practices
• Lead weekly operations calls to review network issues, case statuses, and proposed solutions
• Design and test network upgrades, patches, and new features in lab and production environments
• Support the planning and deployment of Juniper MX304, EX switches, SSR routers, and Mist platforms
• Conduct audits of network configurations, alarms, and logs to ensure optimal performance
• Assist in developing and maintaining Network and Equipment Operating Procedures
• Raise and manage RMAs through resolution and provide regular status reports to stakeholders

Qualifications for the Resident Network Operations Engineer include:

• 6+ years of experience in large-scale IP network design, implementation, and operations
• Strong hands-on experience with Juniper hardware, especially MX304, EX, SSR, and Mist
• Familiarity with JUNOS CLI and protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS
• Experience with MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN/MPLS, L3VPN, and related technologies
• Experience with Cisco platforms

Compensation for the Resident Network Operations Engineer includes:

·      Salary Range: $155,000 - $175,000
