Lead Azure System Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead Azure Systems Engineer to join a high-impact, cross-functional engineering team. This individual will play a strategic role in designing, implementing, and optimizing secure and scalable Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will collaborate with enterprise technology leaders and cross-disciplinary teams to drive innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and manage scalable Azure cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Azure resources across environments.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to deploy hybrid cloud/on-prem solutions.
• Monitor and optimize infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues escalated from Help Desk or identified during design phases.
• Stay current with emerging Azure technologies and industry best practices.
• Create and maintain detailed system documentation including architecture diagrams and test plans.
• Experience with M365, Intune, PP&C, UEM, and IAM is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Azure Cloud Engineering or similar role.
• Deep understanding of Azure service models (Serverless, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Proven experience with cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization.
• Azure certifications required (minimum: Azure Administrator).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Compensation:

·      Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000

·      Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
