Deployment Network Engineer- TOP SECRET

Job Description:

Piper Companies is currently seeking a skilled Top Secret Deployment Network Engineer to join a cyber-physical solutions team in Lorton, VA.

Responsibilities/Desired Skills for Deployment Network Engineer include:

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting network devices.
• Comfortable using CLI, applying patches, and making configuration changes.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, with the ability to design efficient and resilient network topologies.
• Familiarity with cloud networking technologies (e.g., Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute) and their integration with on-premises infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Layer 1 technologies, including cable types, media converters, and circuit components (CPE, Telco, Demarcation points).
• Experience creating network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable layouts.
• Understanding of network security principles and traffic management strategies.
• Proficiency in WAN/Internet transport and routing technologies such as BGP, MPLS, and SD-WAN (Juniper preferred).

Qualifications for Deployment Network Engineer include:

·       Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in network engineering, with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.

·       Valid driver’s license and passport.

·       Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.

·       Expected travel: Approximately one week per month, both within the continental U.S. (CONUS) and internationally (OCONUS).

Compensation for the Deployment Network Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $110,000- $170,000 **depending on experience*
