Sr. Data Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a leading organization in the banking industry. The Senior Data Engineer will have strong experience with cloud technologies (GCP or AWS), programming in Java, Scala, or Kotlin, and designing scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities of the Senior Data Engineer:

• Design and develop robust data platforms using the Google Cloud stack (DataProc/Spark, BigQuery, GCS, etc.)
• Lead the development and enhancement of microservices in Java/Kotlin to support data-driven use cases
• Architect hybrid solutions for on-prem and cloud environments, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure management

Qualifications of the Senior Data Engineer:

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or software development
• Strong proficiency in SQL and one or more of the following: Java, Scala, Kotlin
• Hands-on experience with GCP or AWS cloud platforms

Compensation for the Senior Data Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $140,000 – $185,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
• Hybrid work flexibility – 3 days a week onsite
