Telecom Network Engineer - Routing

Piper Companies is seeking a Telecom Network Engineer - Routing to support a leading telecommunications organization in maintaining and enhancing large-scale routing infrastructure within a carrier-grade network environment. The ideal Telecom Network Engineer - Routing will play a key role in configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, and validating telecom routing systems while working alongside experienced network professionals supporting mission-critical services in a hybrid role in Richardson, TX.

Responsibilities of the Telecom Network Engineer - Routing:

• Configure, support, and maintain carrier-grade routing infrastructure within a telecommunications network environment.
• Troubleshoot complex routing, network, and connectivity issues across production environments.
• Test, validate, and implement network configurations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Support router deployments and ongoing operational activities.
• Analyze network performance and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
• Collaborate with network engineers and operations teams to resolve incidents and support infrastructure initiatives.
• Document network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and implementation activities.
• Assist with routing protocol administration and support of IP networking services.

Qualifications of the Telecom Network Engineer - Routing:

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, telecommunications, or related infrastructure environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with routers, preferably within Cisco and/or Juniper environments.
• Telecom industry experience with a solid understanding of carrier networks and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking concepts including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, and switching.
• Experience troubleshooting complex routing and network performance issues.
• Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, and MPLS technologies.
• Exposure to SIP and telecommunications voice network environments is highly preferred.
• Experience performing network testing, validation, and implementation activities.

Compensation for the Telecom Network Engineer - Routing includes:

• Salary range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually depending on experience
