Piper Companies is seeking a Personal Trust Officer in the financial services industry offering hybrid work in Wilmington, Delaware. Responsibilities for the Personal Trust Officer include:
• Administer personal trust accounts in accordance with governing documents, company policies, and applicable laws
• Oversee account setup, annual reviews, and ongoing relationship management
• Ensure proper documentation for account openings and closures
• Analyze trust documents and prepare for New Business Committee review
• Monitor and resolve issues related to tax reporting, cost basis, and cash categorization
• Participate in new business development efforts as needed
• Apply fiduciary judgment and participate in discretionary distribution decisions
• Collaborate with investment personnel and financial advisors to support client goals
• Maintain fee schedules and ensure compliance with trust agreements
Qualifications for the Personal Trust Officer include:
• Bachelor’s degree required; CTFA certification preferred
• 5–7 years of experience in personal trust administration
• Strong understanding of fiduciary law, Delaware-specific trust regulations, and investment strategies
• Ability to manage complex trust matters with minimal oversight
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
• Experience collaborating across departments and with external partners
• Active involvement in professional organizations related to trust and fiduciary services
Compensation for the Personal Trust Officer include:
• Salary Range: $115,00 – $140,000
• Benefits Include: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
