Piper Companies is looking for a Director of Software Development to join a thriving insurance brokerage company. This is a hybrid position and requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days a week.
Essential Duties of the Director of Software Development:
- Provide vision and direction for software development teams, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy
- Oversee both .NET and PowerBuilder development efforts, balancing legacy system support with digital transformation
- Own planning, prioritization, and delivery of projects across multiple platforms
- Introduce and enforce coding standards, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and QA frameworks
Qualifications of the Director of Software Development:
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong technical expertise in .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core) and working knowledge of PowerBuilder
- Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, secure coding standards, and QA best practices
- Experience leading application modernization projects (PowerBuilder to .NET, cloud-native, or microservices architectures)
Compensation for the Director of Software Development:
- $180,000 - $220,000 (based on experience)
